The Brewery

I hesitantly walk into the familiar brewery. This was our place. Our escape from the outside world.

We are running in the forest. Chaos has broken out all around us. Spells are being lodged. Trolls are descending. Giants are closing in.

An Unlikely Friend

I can see it in the distance. Majestic yet intimidating. The gorilla is gesturing in a way that makes the children giggle with delight as their parents stand by them. I am a little envious of them.

Him

I knew he would be there before I even opened my eyes. I wanted to drift off to sleep again to avoid him, but his presence made that impossible.

The little boy was lying nestled in the plush grass while the sun’s rays dotted his skin through the canopy of oversized wildflowers.

See You Again

“It’s nice to see you again,” I said. “It’s nice to see you, too,” he reciprocated.  “I wasn’t sure if I would actually see you again, but I was hopeful,” I shared.
