What the New Year has in (Book)Store...

Writer's picture: Joel E.Joel E.

Happy 2025, everyone! Whether the start of your new year started great or not, it doesn't define your entire year. Even though we label every year with a number, it is still just the passage of time. Things that have affected us the previous year can continue to affect us in the new year. While it's a comforting notion that the new year can be a clean slate, it can also be misleading because we can create a clean slate anytime. We can make changes anytime. We do not have to feel like we need to succumb to those labels of time.

Something that I have done with my time recently is introduce my book to a new bookstore. When I started thinking about where else I wanted my book to live, I immediately thought of River Bookshop in Amherstburg, Ontario. Nestled in the heart of the town, this independent bookstore radiates charm and warmth.

The town of Amherstburg itself holds a special place in my heart. Originally from the Windsor-Essex area, I have many fond memories of spending time inside and outside of the town as a child and adult. I continue to create new memories as I visit family and attend neat events.

While I haven't lived in the area in quite some time, it feels like a piece of me now does. You can purchase a copy of my book by visiting the bookstore or ordering it from their website.
