I can't believe almost two months have passed since the official release of my book. As November prepares to slumber and December begins to awaken soon, I reflect on all the changes and developments in my life these past few months.
I wish I could say that I have been able to fully focus on promoting my book, but that hasn't been the case. That's okay. Being an independent author comes with a sense of guilt sometimes because you want to shower your book with your full attention. However, life outside of being an indie author still exists and sometimes that takes precedence.
I have experienced some very fortunate changes and some bumps on this road. I took a step back to focus on my mental health which will always come first. I never lost sight of my book through all this, though. I just needed time to remind myself I can't do everything all at once. Everything has its time and place.
As I continue on this indie author journey post-book release, I'm happy to be connecting with the community once again at an upcoming local event. If you're in the Chatham-Kent area on Saturday, December 7, stop by the holiday version of the popular Punk Rock Flea Market for some holiday shopping.
I'll be selling copies of my book there and showcasing designs for a Mental Health A-wear-ness clothing collection in collaboration with a local small business. This unique market celebrates and welcomes anyone who has ever felt like a misfit. It truly makes you feel like you're at home and isn't that what the holidays are about?
